First Friday Gallery Cruise - featuring Ray Pfortner
The Vashon Chamber of Commerce will participate in our first Gallery Cruise on Friday, February 3rd, 6-9 pm, at the Chamber of Commerce (17141 Vashon Highway SW). Our artist this month is Ray Pfortner who, in addition to exhibiting his photographs, will also be offering a book signing of his first edition, photography book. Don't miss this great opportunity to meet Ray, see his art and buy one of his signed books.

Vashon LEADS Presented by Dawn Sheppard, 1st Impression by Design Vashon LEADS is a dynamic subgroup of the Vashon Island Chamber of Commerce that generates leads and business for its members, essentially acting as each other’s sales force.
Storefront Studio Presentation by Julie Koler from King County Get the full details on the exciting new Storefront Studio project coming to Vashon in 2012. In a re-appropriation of KCECC’s assets, $10,000 was granted to the University of Washington’s Department of Architecture to design storefront improvements for the revitalization of the Vashon business district. The county’s Historic Preservation Program will explore making loan funds available for the façade improvements. Networking – Bring your business cards!

BIZARRE FOODS WITH ANDREW ZIMMERN VISITS SEA BREEZE FARM
Be sure to watch the Travel Channel (Channel 36) this coming Monday, February 6th, at 9 pm (check your tv listing to confirm) to watch the visit that the popular show, Bizarre Foods, recently made to Sea Breeze Farm on Vashon Island!
Andrew Zimmern, host of the show, visited with George Page (owner of Sea Breeze Farm) in August to tour the farm and La Boucherie. While there he sampled the farms "unique" offerings (such as cow placenta and blood) and also learned about the more "typical" fare - like Sea Breeze Farms grain fed meats, organic cheeses, produce and beverages.
